Mount
Manunggal is a
mountain located in Barangay Magsaysay in Balamban, Cebu and rises to a height of 1,003 meters above sea
level. It is the crash site of the presidential plane Pinatubo which carried
and killed President Ramon Magsaysay and seventeen of his presidential staff
and some news correspondents during that unforgettable event on March 17, 1957
where an annual trek is held to commemorate his death. It is accessible through
many trails but the trail from Tagba-o and at Cantipla in Tabunan, Cebu City is
the main route from which the yearly Pres. Ramon

Every month
of march mt. manuggal celebrate the died of pres.ramon Magsaysay. ( 3rd
week of march ) At the camping area a lot of mountaineer and nature lover set
up camp and get social to other climber a lot of activities are happening here
such as fun run, biking, a lot more of activities.
How to get
here?
---if you
happen to go here for the celebration of pres. Ramon Magsaysay, there are some
organizer or group. You can ride on to them for free. Or the barangay of
balamban is sending truck for those people who wanted to get to manuggal the
meeting point is at the JY early morning yan. ( just be updated for the time of
pick-up ) it is also free.
---or if you
just wanted to go here just for fun and enjoy. Just hired a habal-habal from JY
square ( a lot of habal-habal driver is offering their service going to mt.
manuggal ) just negotiate the driver for your time of pick-up the next day.
Tips:
---bring
jacket and extra sacks ( so cold up there ) extra foods comfort ( sometimes
there are some locals offering there service for food cooking )
